A Program Designed for the NextGen of General Partners
Sweetwood NextGen is a three month program designed to provide investment professionals with the skills they require to advance their career in venture capital. The program is specifically tailored for those who are looking to grow their knowledge and understanding of how venture capital funds work and operate, focusing on skills such as fund structuring, operations & finance, fundraising & investor relations and strategy & portfolio construction.
Sweetwood NextGen is managed by Sweetwood Ventures, a leading venture capital fund of funds.
STRUCTURING, OPERATIONS
& FINANCE
Learn the best-in-class principles for fund structuring, operations and financing. This module will cover different types of fund structures and offer direct interaction with relevant service providers who will provide their best practices on legal, finance and operations for the current market.
FUNDRAISING & INVESTOR RELATIONS
Learn how to manage and execute a detailed fundraising strategy and maintain on-going relationships with limited partners. This module will offer an in-depth view of the fundraising landscape and offer participants the opportunity to directly engage with leading limited partners to better understand their mandates and investment processes.
STRATEGY & PORTFOLIO CONSTRUCTION
Gain in-depth insights into latest trends in venture capital, based on proprietary data collected by Sweetwood Ventures. This module will assist you in developing a better understanding of the latest trends in the market and understand key considerations around portfolio construction and management.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
The program is designed for two main types of participants:
- Principals, Vice Presidents and Junior Partners: if you are currently a member of a venture capital firm's investment team in one of these roles and are looking to prepare yourself for your next role as a Partner or General Partner;
- Emerging Managers: if you are looking to start your own fund in the next 18 months and have an investment track record in venture capital or come from a strong operational background and are looking to transition into venture capital by starting your own fund.
The second cohort of the program is exclusively for participants who are predominantly investing or are looking to invest in Israeli related startups.
